 Preface: the concept of LMS

LMS, which is called Learning Management System, refers to systems that allow the creation of an interactive platform between the user, software, and teacher. In LMS, which is referred to in Iran as “Virtual Education”, “E-Learning” and “Virtual Class”, it has the task of transferring education from the Internet to the (inclusive) user.

This training is done by observing all educational and interactive criteria so that the user finds himself in a distance learning class and the items that are important for learning a subject are provided to him.

The basics of a good LMS system are content that is relevant to the people involved. Good educational content includes photos, text, videos, tests, and user activities, the educational format of which will generally be divided into weekly or thematic, and the user is required to complete the course based on the educational topic or week.

Some learning environments also use LMS as a tool for document control and data collection. These centers generally provide repetitive content for the public, and one container will be displayed to many learners. One of the uses of such training is in universities and colleges that accept new users in each semester.

The most popular definition among LMS users is the creation of an online platform and at the same time a training course. It is believed that this mode of training is a separate and independent process from the LMS. This belief is both true and false!

Wrong because without an LMS system, the same thing can be done and used as a webinar or online seminar.

True because: In the virtual learning process, you can put a section in user activities with this mode, and after passing the payback period for online users to repeat the content and for offline users to use the content.

E-learning systems in theory courses alone have the ability to manage a class or course and establish the interactions required for training well, but will sometimes be problematic for the workshop and operational courses. For example, holding an electronic course on working with industrial devices will make it difficult for the user to understand the subject due to the invisibility of the device. Therefore, the use of LMS in workshop courses along with traditional training will be recommended.

E-learning,  distance learning, and LMS refer to the training that learning processes will be formed from the Internet. Learners view the content of their instruction through the Internet and can view the relevant content in order of educational classification.
LMS can be considered as all the content and content that is going to happen in face-to-face training, is provided to users virtually and on the Internet.
This type of learning can be more accessible than face-to-face training, and they can study their educational content in any place and time and only by having internet

What is an LMS?

As the articles “ E-Learning  ” and ” Online education  ” explained the activist education industry in the world after investigating the circumstances of today’s society and business, various people have created, to the use of technology and technology Novin, both in terms of hardware and software to use these tools to provide opportunities for people anywhere, anytime to be able to train, empower and acquire skills. It can be clearly seen that this development has had a significant impact on the transfer of up-to-date and quality knowledge around the world.

After reviewing the types of virtual training and traditional models of content production and their limitations, we came to the conclusion that we need a system in which there is more interaction between participants and professors.

With the help of information technology and programming, the software was born that could solve the problem of e-learning.

The software system Learning Management or Learning Management System and briefly, LMS called.

Of course, they also use other names for this software, such as VLE, which stands for Virtual Learning Environment.

But in general, the use of both names is one thing and it is used for a common purpose.

LMS software, in addition to space for content production, allows you to organizepresent, and track content.

In this way, the teacher, after producing the content he/she wants, which may be in any form, including text, image, audio, video, or…, can categorize it into different sections for the audience with different topics. Provide.

Most interestingly, it monitors the process of using that content. In other words, the instructor can keep up with the audience step by step and observe how much of the content the student has followed and what part he has left.

In addition, he can consider homework for his students and students can send their homework to their teacher in the same space.

At the same time, they can discuss with other students and learners in forums. Instructors in LMS can provide lessons to learners in two ways:

  • Synchronous method: In this method, the teacher and students are in interactive communication with each other at the moment. This communication is done either through forums or online learning platforms. It requires the simultaneous presence of the teacher and the learner in cyberspace.
  • The method asynchronously or  Asynchronous: The Madras content your mind is refreshed and then Danshpzyran whenever possible presence in cyberspace is content to receive and use it in this way without The presence of both parties is not in a moment.

School administrators can upload their various educational departments to the LMS and have instructors, teachers, and students in each department. In addition, it can be financial flows, accounting, customer relationship, service, and other sectors of the schools on LMS load, and a school of virtual self-create.

What are the technical specifications of LMS?

LMS software usually uses PHP, ASP.NET, JAVA programming languages, and in order to be able to enter, store and retrieve data from it, the LMS must be on a database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL SQLServer is installed. LMSs are usually capable of receiving and displaying content with the extensions Scorm, Pdf, Mp4, Mp3, Txt, Ppt, and instructors can provide students with a good variety of data in their virtual courses.

What are the different types of LMS?

In general, LMSs are written in two forms for two types of commercial use (Open) and open source (Open-Source).

Commercial (Comercial): The company or individual software maker LMS with the aim of selling them to schools, organizations, and large organizations to prices usually high application generates and after-sales service unique Provides them. The most famous examples of commercial LMS in the world are objects, BlackBoard, WebCT.

Open Source (Open-Source): In this way, everyone can code software will have access to it on the basis of need, the system self-installation, without having to pay for them. In this case, there is no news of support and after-sales service. The most famous examples of open-source LMS in the world are ATutor, Sakai, Moodle.

What are the features of LMS?

  1. Create a dedicated environment for each training course without limiting the number of courses
  2. Management of each training course by the course manager with different capabilities
  3. Different methods of holding training courses in daily, weekly, thematic and project forms
  4. Define different levels of access for managers, experts, learners, teachers, etc.
  5. Compiling an educational calendar with the possibility of defining events and to-do lists, etc.
  6. Accurate and organized management of all system users
  7. Create a personal page for each person
  8. Ability to create different restrictions for each person in the system
  9. Upload and share training course content according to various e-learning standards
  10. Different information systems
  11. Various statistics and reports along with recording all events and clicks in the system
  12. Holding a variety of electronic tests and online exams
  13. Communication between members with the messaging system of forums and so on
  14. Record grades and create a grade book for learners

And many other features…

What is the use of LMS?

By using LMS, training centers in many cases save human resources and time, while they can use more special facilities in their training process to make training courses more attractive and thus attract more audiences. Here are some of the benefits of using LMS for training centers:

  1. You are not limited to the students of your city and you can have students from anywhere in the country (and even the world).
  2. You can hold classes at any time of the day or night.
  3. You can offer classes at a lower cost, which means more income for you.
  4. You can train thousands of people in LMS at the same time.
  5. You will not have to worry about classes being canceled for various unforeseen reasons.
  6. You will have far less manpower to manage your training system.

Many organizations and large companies can use LMS tools and virtual training to train their staff and employees and so-called in-house training, instead of spending a lot of money and holding face-to-face courses and at a high cost. Much less, educate your audience in more comfortable and free conditions.

About KSRA

The Kavian Scientific Research Association (KSRA) is a non-profit research organization to provide research / educational services in December 2013. The members of the community had formed a virtual group on the Viber social network. The core of the Kavian Scientific Association was formed with these members as founders. These individuals, led by Professor Siavosh Kaviani, decided to launch a scientific / research association with an emphasis on education.

KSRA research association, as a non-profit research firm, is committed to providing research services in the field of knowledge. The main beneficiaries of this association are public or private knowledge-based companies, students, researchers, researchers, professors, universities, and industrial and semi-industrial centers around the world.

Our main services Based on Education for all Spectrum people in the world. We want to make an integration between researches and educations(learning management system). We believe education is the main right of Human beings. So our services should be concentrated on inclusive education.

The KSRA team partners with local under-served communities around the world to improve the access to and quality of knowledge based on education, amplify and augment learning programs where they exist, and create new opportunities for e-learning (learning management system) where traditional education systems are lacking or non-existent.
